Working Mom Needs

From Frazzled to Fierce: Self-Care for Working Moms

Self-care isn’t being selfish; it’s essential to working moms’ happiness and sanity.

  • It combats stress, preventing burnout and keeping your energy reserves fully charged.
  • It empowers you to focus, have a greater presence, and still be able to manage your to-do list with grit and grace.
  • It takes you beyond the orchestration of tasks, fostering inner peace and emotional calmness.
  • It strengthens the threads that connect you – with family, colleagues, friends, and most importantly, yourself and your overall well-being.
  • Embrace an outfit that empowers you: Wear clothes that make you feel confident and comfortable and have a positive start to your day! (remote working gives flexibility in attire, but I still enjoy dressing up at work for a positive headspace)
  • Mindful Moments: Spare some time; take brief moments of deep breathing for a quick mood boost. Keep these tiny pockets of joy handy.
  • Nurture Nature: Whether it’s a morning walk in the park (Park walks are my jam when my schedule allows!) so mostly I am tending to my balcony garden, simply being around greenery lifts my spirits, de-stresses, and recharges me.
  • Movement Magic: Fight the sitting trap! Schedule mini-movement breaks (walks or stretches) throughout your day. Your body and mind will thank you.
  • Nourishing Eats: I prioritize healthy and balanced meals throughout the day for a productive and energised workday. (guided by my Wellness expert – taking the proper guidance is a must!!)
  • Sacred Sleep Schedule: Quality sleep is my priority; having a consistent sleep schedule, even on weekends, works like a magic potion for your body. For ultimate calmness, relaxation and rest in your mind and body, follow a consistent sleep pattern.

There will be days when work demands more and others when family takes centre stage. This beautiful imbalance is perfectly okay. This journey demands pushing yourself, but rediscovering yourself is equally important. Forget the “ideal mom” myth – exceptional mothers come in all shapes and sizes. The most important thing? Take care of yourself.

We, as working moms, can fall into the trap of self-sacrifice, slowly neglecting our own needs.

Let’s break free from the guilt cycle!

Take centre stage, prioritize your well-being, and watch yourself become the unstoppable force you already are.
